Posting a job for free vs. sponsoring a job

Indeed offers free* organic listings for some employers. Indeed has quality standards for any job and may limit the number of free jobs anyone is allowed to post. Employers can choose to sponsor job postings to give them maximum visibility with relevant job seekers.

Sponsored Jobs appear in more prominent positions and increase job visibility. This leads to increased job seeker interest, views and applications.

Organic Jobs are those jobs that may be posted for free. These postings lose visibility over time as they become less relevant to our job seekers, while Sponsored Jobs are always highlighted more prominently in the search results.

Remember that both Sponsored and Organic Jobs:

  • Appear in general search results on the web and on mobile devices
  • Offer an option to apply from web or mobile devices
  • Are linked to the account’s dashboard, where employers can manage their candidates

Please note: If you choose to post a job for free, you can skip the budget settings on the Sponsor Job page and select “Keep this job free”.

*Terms, conditions, quality standards and usage limits apply to all posts; see Indeed terms for details.
